Never would have thought even the CW would keep Beauty and the Beast around this long. I'm still very surprised at just how awful the "Bloodlines" backdoor Pilot was. It's actually a pretty decent concept (even if it doesn't really track with the mythology of the show) but everything else was just plain awful.
I'm still pretty nervous about what NBC is gonna do. Four of my favorite shows right now (Community, Hannibal, Believe and Revolution) are on the bubble over there. The "experts" seem pretty confident that Community and Hannibal will get at least one more season each but I'm not willing to get my hopes up. Pretty sure the other two are dead. Believe is for certain.
It always makes me sad when decent semi intelligent and above shows can't find an audience yet SVU is getting a 16th season.

Bloodbath today: Community, Revolution, Suburgatory, Growing Up Fisher, Super Fun Night, The Neighbours all axed.
Hannibal and the charming About a Boy scored renewals, though. Fates of NBC's Parenthood and ABC's Nashville still causing much speculation on Twitter.

Damn, 3 out of 4 gone. Believe was chopped as well. I'm saddest about Community. While five seasons is a good run for a quality show on NBC I really do wish they'd gotten their "six seasons and movie". Dan Harmon has pretty much already promised that there will be a movie regardless but now I guess it's gonna have to be a post apocalyptic movie.
ETA: According to Entertainment Weekly Sony is already looking to Cable networks and streaming services to continue the series.

Absolutely shattered about Community's cancellation but there's some hope that Netflix (or even Amazon) might pick it up like they did Arrested Development.

Absolutely shattered about Community's cancellation but there's some hope that Netflix (or even Amazon) might pick it up like they did Arrested Development. Thanks to a Community syndication deal Sony struck with Hulu, Sarandos already commented earlier in the year that Netflix swooping in to renew Community was very unlikely. Community's only real hope at this point is if Hulu takes a shot on it.

TBS wouldn't really be a surprise to me. Either way, I'm gonna hold Dan Harmon to his word that a movie will happen. If the Russo Brother's get behind this even a little bit, it's a lock. Those dudes are fuckin' golden right now.

Parenthood's one of those shows I keep meaning to get into but I've never even sampled it yet.

Parenthood's one of those shows I keep meaning to get into but I've never even sampled it yet. It's definitely not a perfect show, nor for everyone, but I do love it. Really good, solid, thoughtful family drama.

Just watched the Pilot episode of "The Flash". Kinda loved it for what it was. My only real complaint is that it all felt a bit rushed at moments. The Villain, in particular, felt more like a plot device than an actual character which is a shame considering who the villain was. There's also a twist at the very, very end that I'm just not sure what to think about. HUGE implications.
After only one episode I'm already kind of expecting another hero to get spun-off of this show.

Anyone watching the rash of new shows on this summer? The list includes The Last Ship, Chasing Life, Extant, Penny Dreadful, Murder in the First, Finding Carter, Dominion, Halt and Catch Fire, Power, The Leftovers, The Night Shift, Working the Engels, Welcome to Sweden,Crossbones, Black Box, Matador, Taxi Brooklyn, Tyrant, Salem, Reckless, Gang Related...
I've watched the first few episodes of Penny Dreadful and am in love. Only haven't burned through the rest of the season because I'm waiting to watch em with my sister. I'm gonna at least check out the rest of these, too. Why not, after all?

So far I've only caught "Crossbones" and "Halt and Catch Fire". Crossbones bugged me quite a it until I realized the writer's weren't going for Historical accuracy as far as the characters were concerned. The series takes place 20 years or so after Blackbeard died and is essentially a "what if" story. It's reimagining history under the guise that maybe Blackbeard didn't really die when we though he did. With knowledge I was able to sort of let myself absorb things a little easier but I still can't really get into it. I think I've only caught the first three episode and though I enjoy it, I just can't make myself remember to set my DVR to record it.
Halt and Catch Fire's pretty good. I still haven't really found a character I'm all that invested in but the story is solid and the acting is as good as you'd expect from an AMC show.
Ha, I lied! Just remembered I've also been wachting The Leftovers and Tyran as well. Really, really like Leftovers a lot. The rest of the world seemed to hate it before it began just because Damon Lindelof is running it but I was a pretty big fan of the book and the show captures it wonderfully. I highly recommend giving it a try. The Pilot was really solid and episode two was a huge improvement.
Tyrant. Given the subject matter of this show it blows my mind just how simple, safe, predictable and down right average this show is. Then, add in the fact that it's an FX show and it just doesn't make any sense. It feels like they're attempting to pull a "Breaking Bad" and give us a weak, non confrontational man and eventually turn him into a badass evil dictator but so far that arch seems to be a little rushed and a little hard to believe. All in all the show's not bad at all really, it just feels like a network show attempting to copy the feel of a cable show.
