COMPASS NETWORK ANNOUNCES WINNERS OF LOGLINE COMPETITION
The Compass Network's Director of Scripted Projects RJ Alden Lackie, alongside fellow Network Directors Kyle West and Dan Taylor, is happy to announce the five winners from the site's first official Logline Competition. The five winners will go into development with Compass, including one-on-one development with Lackie and a showcase at Compass in 2014/2015.
The five feature projects picked up by Compass from the contest include:
A Snitch's Tale from Srini Madhavan (Srini Madhavan)
A street-level drug pusher is forced to become an informant for a detective in order to have her charges dropped. She must navigate this double life whilst her detective contact leads a case against the cartel.
Razzle Damsel from Wil Noack (Wil Noack)
When New New Camelot's Greatest Enemy begins to suck the life's energy from the Kingdom, the newly elected teen 'Princess President' suits up in her flying mecha-battle armour to lead the charge in the War of the Countries against alien goblins, robot dragons and their tyrannical overlord - the wicked Merlina the Unpleasant.
Chronesthesia from Dex MacLeod (Dex Macleod)
A team of privately funded, time traveling scientists with extensive experience in the past embark on their first mission into the future only to find their world destroyed and overrun by giant beasts. It now falls upon team leader, Jack Stanley, along with a seemingly insane future version of himself, to get his crew safely back to their own time.
The Club from Chantel Kuli (chantelthekuli)
Walter Coté, known as King Walt to his buddies, is a retired auto worker in a dying automotive town who frequents a bar full of retirees. When a rich family moves in, buying up land at outrageous prices, Walt must get the old boys to gang up to make a stand for their town, or lose it altogether.
Yellow Sun Rising from Nikki Yee (wagwan)
An idealistic Chinese railroad worker with fists of fury teams up with a rebellious concubine to take justice against the cruel foreman and business owners who torment the local Chinese population.
Compass is excited to work with these five emerging screenwriters and to see what these loglines bloom into. Each of the five screenwriters will develop their scripts under the guidance of RJ Alden Lackie before premiering them to our community. Congrats to the five winners, and best of luck in development. A round of applause! Sound off on which of the above you're most looking forward to as we embark on a new year...
