Figured I'd open this up to offer a place to chat about Compass' script output more generally. One thing I can discuss off the bat... So far, we've showcased pre-written screenplays only. All of the scripts from Shannon Litt, even script series Caydem Falls from Dex Macleod, have been 100% developed without Compass being involved in the process. I can say flat-out we're excited to bring more of these scripts to Compass (hush, that's for #TheNewYear to talk about), but I'm even more excited to announce that Compass wants to start developing scripts come the new year! Working intimately with individual screenwriters, I'll help them turn loglines & proposals into outlines, and then into scripts. And Compass won't take any rights, just (hopefully) your gratitude, the opportunity to showcase the script and - if it does get made someday - some kind of thank you on the final product. Our development process won't be turning your script into what I want it to be, but helping you realise your vision for the project. If that goes well, perhaps we'll be able to expand our team of mentors beyond me. For example, A J. Black spent years running screenplay development at MPtv, so if BZN ever gives him a moment to breathe, we'd love to get someone like him on the team. Or stephinteevee, who knows development from the other side of the gate than we play on. But for now I'm not gonna get overambitious, I'm just gonna do what I do and try to kick ass at it while we develop our first slate. Thoughts? What would you like to see Compass develop in the new year?

I'd be happy to chip in with my own humble beats of advice, when time allows, certainly.

You lot know by now, we're putting 5 scripts into development here at Compass, our (to be announced) Logline Competition winners. I'm excited to develop Compass' first slate of in-house screenplays!

Some really wonderful submissions for our first contest. I'm really looking forward to seeing how these ideas develop from here! Well done to all who entered.
